INS Superior Student

Iowa Network Services, Inc. (INS), representing a network of independent telephone companies that provides telecommunications services to rural Iowans, announces a new program honoring high school students who have demonstrated excellence through the INS Superior Student of the Month award.

Superior students come in many forms. They may be dedicated to their academic achievement, leadership roles or extracurricular activities. Or, they may have overcome a challenge that shows their strength and commitment to being a positive example for others. INS’ Marketing Manager, Kristi Arp, states “These are the youth that benefit our communities most and are the individuals Iowa Network Services would like to recognize.”

Arp continues, “Through the INS Player of the Week program, Iowa Network Services has been honoring student athletes for over three years in all high school division play. We have also been a proud sponsor of other youth related programs such as Drill Team, music festivals, and academic scholarships but wanted to broaden the recognition to those individuals who have excelled in other areas including community and church service, arts, sports, clubs and organizations, political, self accomplishments, and/or entrepreneurial achievements. The INS Superior Student of the Month award program will allow us to accomplish this goal.”

Each month during the spring and fall high school semester one student will be chosen from a qualified pool of nominees. Nominations can be made by a community member, school leader or other adult with an experienced understanding of the student’s accomplishments. A panel of third-party, independent judges will select the winner and the INS Superior Student of the Month award recipient will be announced on a statewide radio commercial crafted from an interview with the individual who submitted their nomination.
