Rural Iowa is proving to be an excellent place to start, relocate or expand a business. It’s now home to a growing number of enterprise businesses that are taking advantage of the strong communications services offered by Iowa’s independent telephone companies. These services, made possible by the INS statewide fiber-optic network, enable businesses to stay connected from virtually anywhere — even the most remote rural areas.
On page 3 of this Business Connections issue, you’ll learn more about the INS network and the tremendous investment we’re making in Iowa’s infrastructure. Then on pages 4 and 5, we spotlight a group of successful companies in Elk Horn that exemplify what’s possible in rural Iowa: Liberty Labs; World Cal, Inc.; Liberty Auto Restoration; Danish Villages Energy and Iron Eagle Technologies. Ripple Effect is a joint program of INS and Iowa Area Development Group that was created to strengthen rural Iowa through financial and technical assistance for business and community development. There’s an overview of this program on page 7, including a list of recent projects that have benefited from Ripple Effect resources.
Regardless of where your business is located, reliable and cost-efficient communications services are essential. INS remains committed to help deliver what’s needed today and tomorrow.
